Submission Guidelines
Please read through the guidelines thoroughly. Any deviation from the rules will be grounds for disqualification. Submission closes on May 15 at 11:59 PM EST.Eligibility:
Eligible applicants must be enrolled for at least one semester during the 2013 calendar year in any college, community college, art school or university worldwide as an udergraduate or graduate student. Applicants should have less than three (3) years of professional experience.
Submission Materials:
1. Application Form - Please download the application form from the link below and fill out all of the required information. When complete, re-save as a PDF document only, with your Last name and First name followed by ‘Application’ (Example: SmithJohnApplication.pdf).

2. Image Portfolio - Submit a minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 images with captions embedded. Images need not be from the proposed project but should demonstrate an understanding of the complexities of long-term social or cultural documentary projects. Images should be sized at 1500 pixels on the long side at 100 dpi saved as JPEGs with a compression of 8. For each image, caption information must be included in the “File Info” description section of the image file. Captions must be written in English. For the purpose of unbiased judging, it is essential that the photographer’s name is not included in the caption section of the metadata. As with the text documents, include your name when naming the files, Last, then First, and number in the order you would like them to appear for the judges, for example,SmithJohn001.jpg, SmithJohn002.jpg, and so forth.
3. Project proposal – In 3,000 characters or less (using at least 11 pt font), explain the scope, significance and journalistic or artistic merit of the project. All proposals must be submitted in English. Please use text only. Use no bullets, numbers, tables or special characters. Please provide a title for the project proposal at the top of the document along with your name. Save as a PDF document only with your name followed by ‘Proposal’ (Example: SmithJohnProposal.pdf).
4. CV – Your CV (resume) should be no more than one page. Save as a PDF document only with your name followed by the word “CV” (Example: SmithJohnCV.pdf).
Submitting Your Work:
Before submitting please make sure you have all the required images and documents ready. You should have between 1-20 images, 1 PDF statement, 1 PDF CV, and our PDF application form.
The submission process is sponsored by Photoshelter. When you have all of your submission materials ready, click on the 'APPLY NOW' link at the top of the menu.
This will take you to a sign in screen. Sign in using the following login and password only:

Once logged in, you will be taken to the uploading page. Select the "LUCEO Student Project Award" from the [select organization] option.
In the "Brief Description" field, type your LAST name first followed by your FIRST name. There is a limit of 20 characters so if you have a long name, fit in what you can.
There is a max upload of 10 images per upload. Simply repeat the process to upload your full submission.
If you chose to enter the maximum amount of images allowed in the competition plus the three pdf documents that are required then you will have to complete this upload process three times in total.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
The following application rules constitute the full requirements of eligibility:

Intellectual Property: Luceo Images assures applicants that all materials and ideas contained within the application will not be used by Luceo Images or grant judges for any purpose other than the grant review and selection process and for publicity (as outlined below).
Publicity: Each grant recipient allows Luceo Images the right to use his or her name, likeness and biographical information, as well as the right to select and use portfolio and award project images in connection with any and all Luceo Images promotion and publicity, including the website, in print and exhibitions of the Luceo Images Student Project Award.
